La Vie En Frames

Hello and welcome! This carrd is intended to answer questions about the La Vie En Frames project for artists who want to participate.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSWhat even is this? The OFMD fandom has created several projects where artists create art of each individual frame of a video sequence from the show, and then the art pieces are put together to create a beautiful animation. See links below for examples! This project will be animating Ed and Stede's kiss from s2e6, Calypso's Birthday.Who can join? Anyone of any skill level, doing any type of art. We'll ask that you try to keep the art to the same general outline as your original frame so they will line up nicely, but other than that you can go wild. Previous frames projects have had digital and traditional art as well as more unusual art forms like embroidery, quilling, and Legos.What's the timeframe? Signups open May 15 and close June 5. The deadline for art submissions will be August 21, and the finished product will hopefully be posted soon afterward.How many pieces can I do? On the signup form, there will be an option to indicate whether you want to do one, two, or three, as well as to indicate whether you'd be open to picking up an additional one as we absolutely will need pinch hitters later in the game. If you sign up for more than one, we will attempt to give you frames from different parts of the project so you don't have to do multiple pieces that are substantially similar, but can make no promises.Who's behind this? IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please note that the frames you will be provided are likely to be fuzzy and/or have poor lighting. We will be extracting them from the 4k version, but let's be real, we've all watched that scene four hundred times and we all know the image quality isn't exactly great. We can do our best to help with lightening to see details, but there's only so much we can do. Please keep this in mind when signing up!
